Oman Sail, in collaboration with the Oman Paralympics Committee and sponsored by bp Oman, launched the SailFree programme. This para sailing initiative, designed to empower individuals with physical impairments through the sport of sailing, is the first of its kind in the Sultanate of Oman.

Programme aims:

• Introduce the candidates to the sport of para sailing

• Build the skillset of the participants in order to achieve a high level of expertise in para sailing

• Develop the participants physical and innovation skills

• Train participants in order to overcome challenges and difficulties in the best way

• Create an integrated and supportive environment for athletes with disabilities.

Programme outcomes:

• To develop an Omani national para sailing team which will represent the Sultanate in international para sailing tournaments
